What is Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
* Imagine bringing more peace and joy to yourself and your family by living in harmony with your values
* Imagine increasing mutual respect and co-operation by honoring both your own and your child's needs
* Imagine communicating peacefully and resolving conflicts without “giving in” or having "power-over" others
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can help families have more fun and solve their problems in a way that acknowleges the worth of each person. NVC is based on the understanding that all humans have the same needs for food, shelter, safety, love, fun and more. When people can recognize their own needs, and see the beauty of the needs of others, new ideas about what actions to take that will work for everyone can appear.
NVC (also known as Compassionate Communication and "the language of the heart") strengthens our ability to inspire compassion from others and respond compassionately to others and to ourselves.
NVC guides us to express ourselves, hear others, and prevent and resolve conflicts by focusing on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting.
