What is Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
  • Imagine  more peace and joy for you and your family as you live your deepest values
  • Imagine increasing mutual respect and co-operation at home
  • Imagine resolving conflicts without “giving in” or having "power-over" others at home, with friends, and at work

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can help families have more fun and solve their problems in a way that acknowleges the worth of each person. NVC is based on the understanding that all humans have the same needs for food, shelter, safety, love, fun and more. When people can recognize their own needs, and see the beauty of the needs of others, new ideas and solutions that can work for everyone can appear.

NVC (also known as Compassionate Communication and "the language of the heart") strengthens our ability to inspire compassion from others and respond compassionately to others and to ourselves.

NVC guides us to express ourselves, hear others, and prevent and resolve conflicts by focusing on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting.
